Project Overview

RoleTimelineServicesIndustry
Web Developer5 daysWebsite DevelopmentMental Wellness / Tech

MoodMe is a wellness-tech brand founded by Dr. Nicole Lunan and Patrick M. with a mission to make emotional communication simpler, especially for couples. They had already launched their app but needed a professional, user-friendly website to support ad campaigns and build trust with new audiences. Their previous website lacked design polish and was difficult to manage. They came to me for a fast, functional, and visually engaging portfolio site that they could update easily. Given the founders’ personal connection to the product, the brand needed to feel both emotional and credible.

Process

Discovery: Understanding the Product’s Emotional Core
Before jumping into development, I explored the brand’s mission and how the app helped users express emotions through mood-based emojis. This understanding informed key development decisions, ensuring the final site reinforced the emotional intent behind the product.

Strategy & Direction: A Scalable WordPress Foundation
MoodMe needed a backend they could manage without technical help. I recommended WordPress paired with Elementor for its flexibility and user-friendly interface, perfect for scaling blog content and running marketing campaigns.

Design & Development: Bringing the UI/UX to Life
The UI/UX design was already provided, so my focus was on translating it into a pixel-perfect, high-performance WordPress site. I built custom templates in Elementor to maintain design consistency and streamline future updates.

Final Handoff: Empowering the Team
Once the build was complete, I walked the team through how to manage their blog, update pages, and keep the site running smoothly. Everything was designed to be intuitive, so the team could focus on growing the product, not fighting with tech.

Outcome

The new website gave MoodMe a professional digital home that aligned with their brand’s emotional mission. The site was fast, mobile-friendly, and built for content marketing, making it easier to run ad campaigns and publish blogs. The client now had full control over their platform, allowing them to reach and retain users with more confidence and clarity.

Key Takeaway

This project reminded me how essential it is to align technical decisions with brand emotion. Even without touching the design phase, I was able to contribute strategically by choosing the right systems and ensuring flawless execution. It was also a great example of how a five-day sprint, when focused, can deliver high-leverage results.
